To ensure quality and consistency, we utilize state of the art diagnostic equipment to test for bean roast shade, bean moisture content, proper grind and finally taste profile. Without good QC you can't produce a consistently good product from one day to the next. Once green coffee has been approved through the cupping stage and the new lot of coffee arrives to our facility, we instantly inspect that green coffee and make sure that it is consistent with the sample we received. To do this we maintain detailed notes on each varietal as we cup them and compare those notes to the newly arrived lot. Once that lot is approved it can now be roasted. After roasting the coffee we take another sample and bring it into our lab for further quality control tests. We grind the coffee and place it in a machine called an Agtron. This machine measures the roast shade. Each coffee blossoms at its own distinct roast profile. With the Agtron we are able to maintain consistency throughout the roasting process. We also utilize equipment to test grind consistency and moisture content throughout the process. All of these quality control methods help us provide a product you will enjoy over and over, no matter when you purchase it.
