Here are some grinding and brewing techniques

The grind you choose can make a vast difference in your experience. Here are the grind options we offer and their associated brewing methods.

French Press Coarse
Cone Filter Medium-Fine
Espresso Fine

The best grinders are burr grinders, specifically a conical burr grinder. These grinders are very similar to our professional grinders. A burr grinder crushes the bean producing a consistent particle size. Though these grinders are a bit more expensive, you are paying for accurate settings which produce a consistent grind every time. Burr grinders also don't generate a lot of heat which eliminates any burnt or off taste in the coffee once brewed.

Another grinding option is a "blade" grinder. Though these grinders are less expensive than burr grinders, there are some drawbacks. The first is that you have to determine when the coffee has been ground to the proper particle size for your brewing needs. This can produce inconsistent results and can impact the quality of your brew. The other downside to a blade grinder is that they produce a great deal of heat when they chop through the beans at great speed. This may result in a burnt flavor.
